Preparing to pick up chickens

There is great excitement at the Drew Patch this morning as we prepare to get our chickens this afternoon! The long awaited and much spoken of day has arrived!
Nate enjoyed inspecting the house.
Then it was time to put in the hay and arrange the perch and ladder.
Dave has done a fantastic job of building the house, and we are looking forward to testing out the design.
We have also prepared their food and water. Pictures of our new residents will be forthcoming.
Ooh, I want chickens someday, but we can't right now, while we're still in an apartment ;-). Enjoy them!
Wow, Sherrin! What a new adventure! I'm guessing these will be layers for fresh eggs? Our friends just started having chickens (both layers and broilers) and started selling at the farmers' market. They are doing a huge business, and it's always exciting to hear their chicken news. We look forward to seeing pictures and hearing how it all goes for your family.
