Elnathan was cute sitting in his bed for his morning Bible time. When he gets up we ask him to sit and look at his books and listen to music or a Bible CD while we have our own quiet times. He is happy to do this as long as he has dummy and blankie! When this photo was taken he was listening to our new "Songs for Saplings" CD "God and Creation", catechism put to music.

Elnathan has also become genuinely helpful at using his wheelbarrow, provided he is given lots of supervision and direction! We have been cleaning up leaves in our backyard.

Natey's memory verse was "Children obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord" Colossians 3:20.

Mercy was happy to grab at loquats and try to put them in her mouth, but remained hesitant to eat from a spoon. She was seven months on the 21st!

A little friend who is one week older than Mercy came to visit with her parents. Mercy cannot sit up for long yet. In this picture she is about to collapse!

From garden to tummies . . .

Our last cherry tomatoes were delicious in a salad. We had tomatoes from January to June, and there are still some sauces in the freezer!

A book we enjoyed together was Letterland ABC from Grandma, which is full of fun letter characters! It was cute to hear Elnathan say to Dave "Please Natey learn" while requesting this book.
Encouragement, ideas and inspiration came from Motherhood as a Mission Field.

We are thankful for my successful first ever trip to the library and shops with both children. Yes, I had never attempted this before!

Isonto is a Zulu word for both week and Sunday, so Dave suggested it as the title of this little update I plan (God willing) to put out each Sunday. So far keeping the same template has made it a very quick way to blog.

Isonto is a Zulu word for both week and Sunday, so Dave suggested it as the title of this little update I plan (God willing) to put out each Sunday. The intent is that following the same format will allow me to complete it in half an hour or less.  So, this last week, this is what went on...

Elnathan was happy to do his alphabet puzzle. I bought this due to his increasing interest in letters. I have loved using the skills with teaching sounds that I learned as a teacher's aid.

Natey's memory verse was "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God" from Matthew 5:9.

Mercy thought her brother was the funniest person in her world.

From garden to tummies . . .

Garlic was one flavour of the week as we have all had infections of one type and another. We made some very potent garlic bread! We are still eating the 30+ bulbs we harvested in December. Now it is planting time again and we have been able to plant our own cloves! We put in about 25 on Saturday, although with Dave's job contract ending in August we don't know if we will be here for harvest.

A book we enjoyed together was My ABC Bible Memory Verses. Natey has been doing really well with the verses.

Encouragement, ideas and inspiration came from the sweet Charlotte Mason Companion  I have been reading while feeding for the past several weeks. What a treasure of educational vision this is!

We are thankful for the washing machine that washes all those dirty nappies and vomited on clothes and sheets!
